Stop Smoking

Great! You want to learn how to stop smoking using hypnosis.The good news is...it is one of the quickest,most effective, and painless methods. The bad news is, hypnosis won't stop smoking for you. Let me explain how and why it works, and you can be the judge if it is a good choice for you to become a non-smoker. First, lets start by changing your view of nicotine. People are lead to believe, by a multi-billion dollar industry, that nicotine is physically addicting. It's not, and I can prove it. Physical addiction, is a need that is created because the addictive substance replaces some natural function of your body. The body gets lazy, and allows the substance to do the job for it. When the substance isn't taken, the body reacts to the shortage and signals a craving, that amplifies over time. You end up taking the substance just to return to normal. With cigarettes; you are fine one minute.. and craving the next. At some point in your smoking career you have tried to quit before. If you went 3 days without a cigarette and then caved in and had one, it was like the very first cigarette you ever had. You got light headed, felt your veins dancing with delight as the inner linings turned into the equivalence of velcro, you got woosy and had to sit down or hang on. You were not returned to normal. After you smoked enough to overload your nervous system again with the nicotine, you no longer felt the effects. Nicotine is a powerful stimulant. If you notice, most smokers can also drink coffee by the potful. The stimulation from nicotine is so strong, it masks the effects of caffeine. What smoking is... is a rewarded behavior. We automatically migrate towards reward and away from pain as a species. You had a reason that you started smoking. It typically is esteem driven. You wanted to look older, look cool, feel accepted, feel respected, more mature, etc. Believe it or not, that is still the reason you smoke. The program that the subconscious wrote was to have you light a cigarette whenever there was a chance for you gain one of those benefits. In this day in age...when you are severely limited to where and when you can smoke, this normally mutates into simply "targets of opportunity" when you CAN smoke. A quick one between the car and the restaurant door, on the way in, and on the way out. I have 5 minutes to kill...light one. Someone else is smoking! Instant bond! We be cool together, accept one another! ...light one. I just ate...I just drank...taking a break...hard at work...time to think...calm me down... light one... light one... light one... Your body learns this behavior and starts doing it for you. You have one lit in the ashtray.. and you light another one without thinking about it. Your body responds to these "triggers" and you light cigarettes automatically. Now its time to stop smoking and what happens? We get these triggers and the body tries to run its reaction program, but you stop it and say no. Internal conflict begins. Stress; by definition, trying to go in two directions at the same time. Sound familiar? Then if we persist with our stop smoking effort, we look for comfort, usually with food. We eat too much trying to replace our smoking habit with food, it doesn't work.. we keep trying... we cave in and start smoking again...and now we not only still smoke, but are over weight too. ------------------------------------------------------------- Now lets talk about what hypnosis does to help you stop smoking. First we identify what your specific triggers are. Then while in trance, we remove the triggers, break the connection between the triggers and smoking. Then, we have you meet with the parts of you that are involved with your smoking habit. You have a "board meeting" and we ask your creative side to come up with activities will replace your smoking activity. The board evaluates the suggestions and votes on the primary replacement activities for smoking, and agrees to adhere to the new behavior instead of smoke. You get an internal support team that has agreed to help you become a non-smoker, instead of trying to get you to continue smoking. We then get in touch with the younger you that first started smoking. The present day you gets to explain to them why that decision to smoke was such a bad one, in any terms you choose. Then that younger you agrees to help remind you that smoking is no longer on your to do list. Lastly, with all of the triggers removed, and the new agreements in place in your subconscious. We take you to a place that you can allow your smoking activity to fall away from you, you not only stop smoking, but you proceed forward from this point in life as a non-smoker. You remember that you used to smoke, but you know in your heart that you are now a non-smoker, and your are very glad of it. This is important, to realize is that you haven't just tried to stop smoking. But you have instead, become a non-smoker. There are no withdrawal symptoms, no cravings, and no weight gain at all.
